Augmented Reality for Education
This past summer I was lucky to join the internship team at Moment, a digital design consultancy in NY.
Momenteers are hardworking, helpful, and aggressively friendly. Many great conversations started in the Moment kitchen and turned into friendships I now value. There is an environment here that is hard to describe— a push to stay curious, seek out new tools, and collaborate in the best way.
Summer internships at Moment offer the chance to explore emerging technologies or opportunity spaces. My team researched augmented reality and what it could bring to education, eventually developing a practical tool that could be used in elementary schools. The scope of this project was ambitious and only made possible by our diverse team and constant support. This was the best kind of learning experience- freedom to put your ideas to the test but plenty of scaffolding when you needed it. Outside of the summer project I was able to participate in client work and other learning events, both gave me practical insights into the word outside of my studies.
We presented our project to the Moment NY team and ended with a demo of the technology.
We blogged about our experience along the way: https://medium.com/momentary-exploration/prototyping-for-augmented-reality-ffc724a679b2#.htmif4o83
